As a young girl, I was shocked when my mother explained to me that girls are not worth the same as boys everywhere in the world, and even in our country, women did not have the same rights and opportunities for a long time. This is just one severe injustice in the world that has been on my mind ever since. During my studies, my interest focused on the ongoing disadvantage and discrimination of individuals as well as social groups based on skin color, religion, gender or sexuality. Working for an educational institution gave me the perspective of being able to actively do something against these injustices, even if only on a small scale. My motivation for MIND is to be able to help individuals to confidently stand up for themselves and to gain equal opportunities for personal and professional development. In addition to intercultural and international cooperation, my environment and, as a diver, the ocean and its inhabitants are particularly important to me. The protection of these can also begin in Central Hesse, with projects for the sustainable use of resources and the avoidance of plastic waste and other environmental pollution. I firmly believe that being mindful and considerate of one another and the environment is the basis for meeting the social challenges of the future.
